Burglary - Selby Close

Officers investigating a distraction burglary are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

The incident occurred between 12.45 p.m. and 1.00 p.m. on Wednesday the 13th of August.  A young white male, approximately 5'9" tall with dark hair and wearing a black t-shirt and trousers, white shoes, a blue coat and a black hat, called at the property of an elderly lady and held paperwork purporting to relate to the checking of the water supply.  He entered the bathroom before being found in the bedroom, where he stole money from a purse.  He left when confronted by the lady..
